After over six hours of travel out of Albina, Suriname sooner in the day, I had finally arrived in the Browns-Mountain area near Brownsweg, Suriname. Come with me and I put off to have beer and some out-of-this-world Surinamese grill in a supermarket!

The biggest lake in all of Suriname is situated at Browns-Mountain. It’s after a dam was built, a lake that was created in 1964. The lake filled up and covered a place that used to be a forest, so that there are plenty of dead trees sticking up out of the water!

My friend and guide Imro out of Jenny Tours although the road to Brownsweg is not great and I put off to go have dinner in the town. The meals in Suriname is varied and contains native Surinamese meals, and Javanese Chinese, Dutch, African. There is so much variety and it’s all super yummy!

On our way down the muddy, dirt road, we seen a boa winding its own way in the darkness. There is never-ending wildlife from Suriname! After arriving in Brownsweg, we drove around and hunted for a restaurant barbecue. After a time, we discovered a tiny restaurant selling some. This is exactly what village life is all about!

My Surinamese barbecue meal consisted of chicken with peanut sauce, also chips topped with ketchup and mayo. The chicken had a exact Indonesian flavor. The chicken was wonderful along with the peanut sauce was amazing. It was using crispy skin and a taste. I adored it was! It was like chicken.

The chips were amazing with all the peanut sauce also. I couldn’t stop eating it! The meal was like Southern barbecue using an undercover twist. The bad part is the fact that it was warmer!

From that point, I wanted to obtain some beer. There are a number of different ones, such as varieties from France along with a Parbo bier. We got some Atlas beers and a Parbo. We purchased six! They came into a little under $8 USD. We tried them!

We started using the Atlas Ultra Powerful, that will be 14% alcohol. It was OK and had a different color. It was very strong and wasn’t my favorite. The Parbo 5 percent was a palate cleanser after the Atlas Ultra Strong. The Atlas 12 percent was better than the 14% but still not good. I was already starting to sense them!

The Chiller Lime was like a juice also also was another great palate cleanser. Then we attempted the Atlas 8.5%, that was the very best. It was wonderful and mild.

I checked out a number of the clothing from the supermarket, which included shoes and camouflage hats. You may even get a machete! There were clothes that folks wrap neck or their head round, and girls wear as a skirt.

The man cut me a candle and a half. It cost me $3 USD. It’d be perfect for protecting my throat! Meanwhile, we gave the rest of our beer away. We didn’t want its rest. I learned that there really are a few 8,000 supermarkets in Suriname and that they’re largely conducted by the neighborhood Chinese community. They’re everywhere!

I hope you appreciated coming with me to explore Brownsweg during the night and have some beer and grill!  If you’d like, please give this video a thumbs up, make a comment, so that you don’t miss some of my upcoming and subscribe to my own channel travel/food adventures!
