Biking Through Malta
You understood how much I love Malta, if you’ve followed along on the blog for a while! I had the chance to visit with Malta a few decades back. This little island nation with a population of merely 420,000 is a mix of classic architecture and beauty, as well as a gastronomy that incorporates Arab and Italian flavors.

Malta may be little but holds the crystal clear seas of Comino: the capital city of Valletta, historical temples, the rustic countryside of Gozo, and plenty of items to discover.
Gozo Route
I’ve only explored Malta however, the islands are little enough to overcome by bike too. Malta has recently been fitted miles of cycle lanes. Because of this, the country’s Gozo Island is presently a biking hotspot, with a lot of its exquisite shore accessible on two wheels.
Gozo is excellent for road biking that is short, while Malta is good for road biking.
Good for Extended Street Biking — East Coast, Malta Island
Home to the vibrant capital of the country and lapped by the Mediterranean Sea, the west coast of Malta is blessed with miles of quiet, oceanfront streets that stretch permanently through towns, rugged coastline and the city.
Sliema Loop (approx 4.5 hours)
Ending and beginning in Sliema, this route snakes throughout the beachside city of Naxxar’s sublime Palazzo Parisio, as well as Saint Julian.
Anchor Bay Loop (approx 2 hours)
Thundering through the center of the national park rocky peaks and troughs, this 6.5 mile path begins and ends in the stunning Anchor Bay. Il-Majjistral is also still home to numerous species of indigenous birdlife, and of course a number of the best snorkeling areas in the country.
Good for mountain biking — Malta Island, Il-Majjistral National Park
A wonderland of indigenous flora and fauna, landscapes that are craggy and windswept coastal paths, Il-Majjistral is also a real home-from-home for its avid mountain biker and also Malta national park.
Good for family Biking — West Coast, Malta Island
One of the areas to get gained from the newly lain bicycle network of Malta, the west coast of the most important island is wonderful for household biking, with tarmac paths of varying lengths.
Rabat to Mdina (approx 2 hours)
A course most charming towns such as Mosta, Mgarr and Dingli, this course consists with many an ocean vista available on the way.
Gozo Coastal Route (approx 2.5 hours)
Completing a full mile loop of Gozo, this course begins in the Port of Mgarr, traverses the scenic, Gozitan villages of Ghajnsielem, Xewkija, Kercem, Nadur and Qala, as well as its capital Victoria.
