VIDEO: The Border Town of Mae Sai, Thailand

Welcome to the northern most town in Thailand, Mae Sai.

It is a border market town where you will see hundreds of people and sellers crossing over the border. It cost 500 Baht or 10 USD per person, if you want to get it done your passport. Until you come back to Thailand, the Thai officials will maintain your passport.

Here you may find everything from vegetables, fruits, clothing, antiques, toys and even wine. I opted to try some and they were delicious! If you are starving you can all find some street food all.

You always have the option to have a picture at the sign marking the northern most point in Thailand if you opt not to cross into Myanmar. It is a one hour drive north and makes for an easy day trip, if you are in Chiang Rai. I would recommend visiting with the two Mae Sai and the Golden Triangle on the exact identical day.
