The Fab 4 Beers of El Salvador
I enjoy trying drinks and my expertise in El Salvador has been no different. The beers of El Salvador are refreshing and tasty Although other countries produce a few of the rums and whiskeys.
Through the last few days both my driver and guide invited me to test a number of the country’s famous beers (not that they needed to pull my leg to do it.)
So here are the fab 4 plus one limited edition.
This is deemed to be El Salvador’s domestic beer since everyone drinks it, so it’s thought of as one of the most well-known beers of El SalvadorĀ Believe of Budweiser from the States, Pilsener Urquell in Czech, Gallo in Guatemala and Balbao in Panama. You can find this beer anywhere you look and it’s perfect for a day at the beach or simply hanging out with friends. I really enjoy this beer smoothness and lightness, but notably the affordability factor. Pilsener typically costs $1 in stores and $1.50-$2.50 in pubs. El Salvador’s unofficial beer must try In case you come.
This is called the king of beers. It costs about 25% more than Pilsener and can be served everywhere. Drinking Suprema is a luxury for many working class El Salvadorians, so a prestige is connected with ordering it. As I have learned from my friends here- girls dig.
Similar in taste Golden Light is your girls’ beer. It’s light and reduces the risk of hangovers. Even the most manly of men wouldn’t dare to order a Golden Light in a public location, but I really liked this beer . Still, Pilsener is my own favorite.
Wonderful beer which most folks believe to be about the lower-end. Regia is tastier than Pilsener, but it’s tough to find in many restaurants. Regia is promoted in the class, which does mingle in pubs and tourist-friendly restaurants. It comes in 40 ounce. Glass bottles and also in cans. Regia one tried evening. Locate and our waiter had to leave it at another bar. 20 minutes after he returned along with my request. The 40 ounce cost me about $3.50. In stores it costs about $1.30.
*LIMITED EDITION: This really is a limited edition beer. It’s essentially a Suprema spin-off which has a cherry taste sweet and with a higher alcohol content. It’s only sold in stores from December to March. It costs about $1.40 in supermarkets, which is the only place they are sold.
Here’s a tasting I’d on Lake Coatepeque at my friends house.
