South Africa and Lesotho Here We Come!

We’ve been gearing up to get a yearlong travel through South Africa. We’ll also be spending a couple of days in Lesotho, that’s the most country on the continent. We’ll be posting Facebook, Twitter, along with Instagram upgrades from our trip so that you won’t miss out on lodges and the wildlife we’ll be filming. They’ll inspire you to stop by the southernmost country of Africa someday soon.

Here is a quick run down of the destinations we will be covering.

By the time you’ll get read this post, I’ll likely be on my 16-hour flight from NYC to Johannesburg. We will be staying here two nights at the Tintswalo Waterfalls from which we’ll explore the city’s sights and sounds with the help of Joburg Tourism.

Next up is the national park that I have been dreaming of my whole life, Kruger National Park! We will be here for eight days visiting some luxury camps and viewing game. Here is a list of the incredible properties that I will have the opportunity to stay in: Umkumbe Safari Lodge, nDzuti Safari Camp, Africa on Foot, nThambo Tree Camp and Nokana Safari Camp.

After eight exciting days in the wild, we will then fly from Kruger back to Johannesburg to pick up our car courtesy of CarRentals.co.uk for our drive south into Lesotho. We will spend four days seeing everything the country has to offer, from the highest pub in Africa, to dinosaur foot prints. We will be staying at two lodges here: Semonkong Lodge and Maliba Lodge in order to see both areas of the country.

Next stop: Durban, the third largest city in South Africa. Our digs will be the 5-star Oyster Box Boutique Hotel and we’ll be shown around by Durban Tourism.

Next up we will be visiting an exclusive oceanfront resort called Umngazi River Bungalows, about five hours south of Durban. Here we will be doing a lot of water activities and eating lots of fresh seafood!

We then will be driving south to the town of Port Elizabeth for one night to recharge our batteries at the beautiful No 5 Boutique Hotel.

Then onto the Gondwana Game Reserve to celebrate my birthday and see some more incredible African wildlife!

After a few nights on safari we will be heading to Grootbos Nature Reserve. It’s right outside of Hermanus and here we will be cage diving with great white sharks!

Before entering Cape Town we will be stopping at Creation Wines to see their vineyard, try some wines and have some lunch.

And our final destination will be Cape Town! We will be spending five incredible days exploring the city with Cape Town Tourism, heading up to Table mountain and visiting Boulder Beach to meet the resident penguins. The three properties we’ll be covering in Cape Town include the DoubleTree by Hilton Upper Eastside, Blue Views and Tintswalo Atlantic.

All in all, it will be over one month of non-stop adventure and nature. We will be filming some amazing hotels, crossing a few must-dos off the bucket list and changing the way you see South Africa and Lesotho!
